A mere twenty days before the official start of summer and amidst a heatwave, while the rest of the world is contemplating the Bonfires of Alicante or holiday destinations, one municipality in the province is looking ahead and already thinking about its Christmas Fair. Christmas.

According to municipal sources, the Town Hall is "already working on the preparations for this new edition with the aim of continuing to improve and maintain the level of quality and appeal." That town is none other than Xixona, the birthplace of turrón, which experiences its most significant days precisely around the Christmas festivities.

The Town Hall of Xixona has already announced, as of June 3rd, the dates for the next edition of the Jijona Christmas Fair: from December 4th to 8th, 2025. Make a note in case you miss it. Fortunately, this year it extends its duration by one more day compared to the previous edition, coinciding with the festive long weekend.

The Christmas Fair is one of the main tourist and economic attractions of Xixona. In its recent editions, it has attracted an average of 90,000 visitors, making this Alicante municipality one of the most popular destinations in the Valencian Community during those days. The influx of visitors multiplies the town's usual population by five and generates significant activity for all sectors.

The mayor, Isabel López, highlighted that the fair "not only represents a celebration of our traditions but also a huge opportunity for the commercial, business, and associative fabric of Xixona." She explained that it is an event that benefits the entire town, from turrón and sweets manufacturers to local shops, bars, restaurants, and associations.

López also emphasized the role of the fair as a driver of new business initiatives. "Every year, proposals emerge that take advantage of this environment to gain visibility, validate their products, and establish contacts. The fair is undoubtedly a very valuable entrepreneurship platform for Xixona."

This year's edition will once again feature the traditional stalls selling turrón, Christmas sweets, artisanal products, and gift items, as well as a varied cultural and family program with activities, music, workshops, tastings, and exhibitions, creating a unique atmosphere that serves as a prelude to the Christmas festivities.
