After several meetings with the Federació, the Alicante City Council has agreed to increase the budget allocated to the Hogueras commissions. The grants have been increased by 2.5% compared to 2024, with a total investment of 745,900 euros.
The subsidies are intended to cover part of the expenses for construction, storage, repair, maintenance, restoration, plantà, and cremà of the bonfires, with an amount of 659,300 euros to be distributed among the 91 adult fogueres, depending on the category, and 86,600 euros for the children's.
For the adult Special category bonfires, the City Council will subsidize a maximum of 24,000 euros. These commissions are ten: Baver-Els Antigons, Carolinas Altas, Diputació-Renfe, Florida-Plaza de la Viña, Florida Portazgo, La Ceràmica, Polígono de San Blas, Port d'Alacant, Sagrada Familia, and Sèneca Autobusos.
In the case of the children's Special category, the municipal subsidy will reach 2,000 euros per commission: Passeig de Gómiz, La Condomina, La Ceràmica, Ángeles-Felipe Bergé, Baver-Els Antigons, Florida-Portazgo, Sagrada Familia, Foguerer Carolinas, Sèneca-Autobusos, and Diputació-Renfe.
The rest of the municipal subsidy for adult bonfires will be distributed among the nine commissions in the first category with 9,800 euros each, along with 6,700 euros for the eight in the second, 5,200 euros for the 19 in the third, 4,600 euros for the eight in the fourth, 4,200 euros for the 19 in the fifth, 4,000 euros for the 12 in the sixth, and 2,350 euros for the six debuting in the newly created seventh category.
Special Category: 24,000 euros per bonfire
First category: 9,800 euros per bonfire
Second category: 6,700 euros per bonfire
Third category: 5,200 euros per bonfire
Fourth category: 4,600 euros per bonfire
Fifth category: 4,200 euros per bonfire
Sixth category: 4,000 euros per bonfire
Seventh category: 2,350 euros per bonfire
The 86,600 euros allocated for the 91 children's bonfires are distributed with 1,300 euros for each of the fourteen registered in the First; the twelve in the Second will receive, individually, 1,000 euros; 800 for the fourteen in the Third; 700 for the sixteen in the Fourth; 600 euros for the fourteen in the fifth; and 500 euros for the eleven that will be in the sixth category. In the case of the children's, there is no seventh category.
Children's Special Category: 2,000 euros per bonfire
First children's category: 1,300 euros per bonfire
Second children's category: 1,000 euros per bonfire
Third children's category: 800 euros per bonfire
Fourth children's category: 700 euros per bonfire
Fifth children's category: 600 euros per bonfire
Sixth children's category: 500 euros per bonfire
Thus, the amounts have experienced increases of 500 euros in the Special category, 300 euros in the first, and 200 euros in the second. The rest, including all the children's, maintains the same subsidy. Specifically, the allocation to adult bonfires grows by 2.6% and to children's by 2.4%.
The total investment in the 182 adult and children's bonfires of 2025, according to the Federació de Fogueres, exceeds 2.8 million. For the adults, this represents an increase of 3.2% compared to 2024. As for the children's, that increase stands at 6.6%.
