The new INKLIDED Research and Teaching Unit, a joint initiative by KLINIK PM and the Spanish Multidisciplinary Society of Pain (SEMDOR), has been inaugurated this Friday. It is designed as a centre of excellence for the development of clinical trials, medical teaching, and applied research projects in the field of pain and other medical specialties.
The event was attended by key institutional and health authorities of the province, including the mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala Sierra; the Councillor for Health, Cristina Cutanda Pérez; the Territorial Director of Health in the province of Alicante, Paco Ponce, and Dr. Luis Miguel Torres, president of SEMDOR. The official presentation was made by Dr. Pablo Martínez Pérez, a traumatologist, pain specialist, and medical director of KLINIK PM.
The INKLIDED Unit has been established with the aim of promoting the generation of clinical knowledge through rigorous research, aimed at improving care quality, patient functionality, and the implementation of innovative therapies based on scientific evidence. With a multidisciplinary approach, the centre is open to collaboration with universities, scientific societies, and entities in the national and international biomedical field.
"Today marks a turning point in pain treatment in our country. Our ambition is clear: for Alicante, with the support of KLINIK PM, to become a true national health reference in this field," highlighted the president of SEMDOR, Dr. Luis Miguel Torres, during his speech.
With this inauguration, KLINIK PM and SEMDOR strengthen their commitment to medical innovation, advanced clinical research, and specialised professional training, establishing Alicante as a key city in the development of patient-centred health strategies and precision medicine.
