July has been a month of records. The airport recorded the highest number of travelers in a single month, and tourism continues to thrive. The hotels in the province are enjoying a more than positive year, and the arrival of the peak season has only bolstered their good fortunes.
Last July, the establishments in the province reached their highest occupancy rate of the entire year. According to data from the Provincial Association of Hotels of Alicante (APHA), the seventh month of the year closed with an average occupancy rate of 86.5%.
This period is typically one of the strongest of the year for tourism in the province, as evidenced by the figures achieved in the region. Areas such as San Juan Beach have posted "full" signs, with 97% of their spots occupied.
The figure reached this July in the province is 1.5 points higher than that of the same month in 2023 and is already the highest so far in 2024, surpassing June's rate by six percentage points and May's by 3.6 points, which previously held the record.
