An orchestra whose musicians will meet three hours before the concert. This is the proposal that, once again, the Consortium of Museums of the Community, in collaboration with the City Council, presents for this weekend at the Contemporary Culture Center Las Cigarreras in Alicante.

Under the title 'Instant Orchestra', the ensemble will be for one day only and is characterized as an 'original, mutant, and ephemeral' concept. It includes musicians of all levels, who will perform this Saturday, October 19, at the House of Music.

The members of this one-day orchestra will gather at 5 PM, three hours before the concert, to hold musical creativity workshops led by Nacho García and Carlos Izquierdos. These sessions also form an 'Instant University'.

Thus, once graduated from these studies, they will put into practice what they have learned with the opening of doors to the public at 8:30 PM and offer a one-hour concert.

"From the CMCV we want to promote the creation of new forms of musical expression," said the regional secretary, Pilar Tébar. "These workshops, in addition to fostering musical creativity, enhance collaboration among musicians in a playful way and collective talent," she added.

Meanwhile, the Councilor for Culture of the Alicante City Council, Nayma Bedjilali, stated that "the 'Instant Orchestra' is an initiative that has been very successful in previous editions and has invited the people of Alicante to enjoy an original and unique concert."

Bands of Experimental Music

Carlos Izquierdo and Nacho García are musicians interested in new forms of musical expression. They have been part of experimental music bands related to improvisation and the intervention of electronic instruments.

In recent years, they have conducted workshops on improvisation, creating graphic scores, and modifying and making instruments, always with a practical and playful pedagogy.

Their work has been showcased at festivals such as Atronador (Alicante), In-Sonora (Madrid), NUMA Circuit (Tenerife), and in institutions like the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante (MACA), among others.
