Alicante Families to Discover on Thursday if Their School Will Have Dual Language Programme or Single Model

The consultation to choose the base language in education (with a predominance of Valencian or Spanish) concluded this Tuesday at 2 p.m., following its commencement on February 25. The next step in this process will occur this Thursday, when the management of public schools and the ownership of private charter schools will publish the lists of students with the base language chosen by families.

The lists to be published will be generated through the report generator of the ITACA-GAC information system. To maintain privacy guarantees present throughout the process, the only data appearing on the lists will be the Student Identification Number (NIA), without names or surnames, explained by Education in a statement.

These lists will be posted on notice boards located inside the schools "and under no circumstances may they be published on the website or any other media of the school," explained by the Department of Education.

If families detect any errors in the published lists, they may file an appeal with the Territorial Directorate of Education within one month from the date of publication.
