Alicante Enhances Security During Hogueras with Four 'Punto Violeta': Locations and Schedule

The Alicante City Council, through the Equality Department of the Social Welfare Council, strengthens security during the Hogueras festivities with the installation of 'Punto Violeta' in various areas of the city. Hogueras with the installation of 'Punto Violeta' in various areas of the city.

'Punto Violeta' are safe spaces for information, attention, and assistance to women facing any sexist attitude or behaviour.

These tents will be distributed throughout the city starting June 20. They will have professionals with training and experience to handle such situations. They will also coordinate with other security officials during the festivities.

Under the slogan 'Alicante, a safe space for women', the City Council will set up two fixed 'Punto Violeta' and another two mobile ones, aiming to prevent and address harassment, violence, or sexist attitudes during the main days of the Hogueras.

The special security device during the Hogueras of Alicante will feature a total of four 'Punto Violeta':

These fixed 'Punto Violeta' will have three professionals each, while the mobile ones will cover the main party areas with two experts: barracas, racós, and Alicante's nightlife.

The 'Punto Violeta' will be operational during the central days of the Hogueras of Alicante, from June 20 to 24, from 10:30 PM to 4:30 AM.
