The Alicante City Council and Netial, the company responsible for the city's cleaning and waste collection services, have launched a special cleaning operation for the Royal Pages Parade on January 4th and the Three Kings Cavalcade this Sunday. The aim is to ensure that the streets and avenues with the highest foot traffic are in optimal condition. The reinforcement of teams and personnel will also extend to the parades in Alicante's neighbourhoods.
The deployment includes a significant increase in teams, workers, and resources to provide the necessary and appropriate attention during the Christmas period. Fourteen additional vehicles will be allocated for emptying bins and cleaning container points. This is complemented by the cleaning and maintenance of bins along the route of the Royal Pages Parade, which starts at 6 PM from Plaza de España - Monument to the Foguerer - and proceeds along Rambla de Méndez Núñez, concluding at the Explanada.
The special operation will also feature a rear-loading collection vehicle and a five-cubic-metre collector, which will be used for collecting containers in the city centre and addressing potential waste overflows.

The Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Street Cleaning and Waste Management, Manuel Villar, highlighted the effort made by the cleaning services during these festive days to restore the city's image in record time after the parades. He expressed gratitude for the work of both the cleaning service workers and the cooperation of Alicante's citizens in this task, which, with everyone's effort, will allow Alicante to present its best face.
This Sunday, January 5th, a special service will be launched for the cleaning before and after the various parades in the city, due to the Three Kings Cavalcade. For the official parade, the afternoon service will conduct the pre-cleaning of the route. Once the parade is over, another 15 workers, with mechanical sweepers and blowers, will join the regular service to carry out the post-parade cleaning.
In the neighbourhoods, a service consisting of five teams with a dozen workers equipped with sweepers and blowers will perform cleaning tasks for the various parades held in other parts of the city, including San Blas and San Agustín, Requena-Juan XXIII and Villafranqueza, La Cañada and Rebolledo.
Additionally, the weekend following the Three Kings will see a cleaning service to finish preparing the entire city after all the festivities.
Alicante will have a special Christmas tree collection service on January 7th and 8th. Citizens can use this service by sending a WhatsApp message to 670 08 64 11. Once the message is sent, Netial asks citizens to leave the trees at the nearest containers to their homes between 5 PM and 11 PM on the specified days. After collection by Netial workers, the trees will be transported to the Alicante Waste Entity, ERA, where they will be reused to produce plant compost, i.e., organic fertiliser.
Netial thanks residents and visitors for their behaviour during the nights of December 24th and 31st, when most households deposited their waste the following day, allowing our staff to also celebrate these cherished dates with their families.
