Alicante-Elche Airport is already focusing on the winter season. Despite being in the midst of the summer period and having a record-breaking first month, airlines are beginning to outline their offers for the rest of the year and early 2026.
Ryanair has already announced it will increase its connections for the winter season of 2025/26, adding eight new destinations, including the three new routes launched this summer, which have shown promising results in the first month of operation.
Another airline operating at the Alicante terminal that has announced an expansion of its frequencies is Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS), the flagship carrier of the Nordic countries. SAS Airlines will increase its flights beyond the peak season to the three Nordic capitals: Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo.
The airline has assured TodoAlicante that it will increase the Alicante to Copenhagen route by 70%, offering four weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays to Kastrup Airport, where the Scandinavian company is based.
"From there, short transfer connections will also be offered to destinations such as Stockholm and Gothenburg in Sweden; Billund and Aarhus in Denmark; Aalborg, Bergen, Stavanger, Kristiansand, Trondheim, and Oslo in Norway; and Tallinn (Estonia), Gdansk (Poland), and Palanga (Lithuania)," SAS Airlines stated, adding that connections to non-EU destinations in North America or Asia, such as New York or Tokyo, will also be available.
Regarding the other two direct destinations, both will see an increase in frequencies, with Oslo notably rising from four to seven weekly flights year-on-year. Thus, every day except Tuesday, the airline will connect Alicante with the Norwegian capital, with double frequencies on Saturdays.
The connection with Stockholm will also increase year-on-year, reaching up to eight weekly flights, which will be reduced to six during the low months of the winter season. "We will continue to offer daily direct flights to Oslo and Stockholm from Alicante," the airline highlights, adding that up to three daily frequencies will be available on high-demand days in July and August.
Additionally, during the peak season, the airline connects with more destinations in the Nordic countries, available until October. Thus, SAS Airlines will connect the Costa Blanca in summer with Gothenburg, Bergen, Stavanger, Kristiansand, and Trondheim.
