It is practically official. Unless there is a catastrophe, the forecasts will be fulfilled, and Alicante-Elche airport will surpass the historic 2023 in this 2024. It will do so even before the end of the year, as with still three more months to go, the total figure is already approaching the record held by the previous year.

In the first nine months of 2024, 14.09 million passengers have been registered at the Alicante terminal, while at the end of 2023, 15.7 million were reached. October could put the finishing touch and surpass it, but if not, November will raise the number of passengers above the historic records of 2023.

The month of September has set a new record for this period by surpassing 1.8 million passengers. This represents a 15.3% increase in travelers compared to the same period in 2023, according to data from airport operator Aena.

The data achieved in September even surpasses the figures for July and August of last year, with a staggering statistic. About 60,000 people per day passed through the Alicante terminal on average in September, a record for this month.
