Alicante concluded the most special night of the year without incidents, collecting over 664 tonnes of ash. It was a monumental night during which 284 adult and children's bonfires and barraca facades were burned.

The Alicante City Council has reported on a Cremà in which 700 personnel participated, including Firefighters, Local Police, Civil Protection, and Cleaning, supported by three Red Cross units, as well as the security operation of the National Police and Civil Guard. This ensured the night passed "without notable incidents" until five in the morning, when the operation was concluded.

However, this Cremà was particularly noted for the extensive cleaning operation, which collected 21 tonnes more ashes than in 2024. During the night, 180 Speis operatives participated, distributed in 26 teams with 60 vehicles, working in six shifts across the three time slots into which the operation of the 91 bonfire districts was divided.

After the Cremà of the monuments, more than a hundred workers with machinery such as excavators, trucks, sweepers, and auxiliary vehicles entered service to collect 664 tonnes of ash. The operation worked well, according to the Councillor for Street Cleaning and Waste Management, Manuel Villar. The councillor indicates that the tasks "were carried out normally and according to the planned schedule to ensure the city was operational by early morning."

After the removal of the stalls and tents, the cleaning services also cleaned the racós and barracas, with all traffic open before noon. "In the coming days and throughout the next week, cleaning work will continue to leave the entire city in perfect condition," added Villar.

Regarding the security operation of the Cremà, 340 local police officers, 180 firefighters, 70 Civil Protection volunteers, and 113 cleaning workers participated, equipped with the "necessary vehicles and materials for the proper development of the Cremà," explained the Alicante council.

Development of the Cremà and festival table

The Cremà began after midnight following the launch of the palm tree. It was then that the night of San Juan began, and the Official Children's Bonfire, H2O, was set alight, followed by 'Identity', the adult bonfire at the Town Hall square, leading to the first turn of bonfires being consumed by flames.

The second turn began with the winner of the Special category, 'Vanity' from Baver-Els Antigons, while the third round commenced around three in the morning, with the Cremà being declared finished by five in the morning. In total, 234 adult and children's bonfires and 50 barraca facades were dealt with.

The Councillor for Festivals, Cristina Cutanda, also announced that "in the coming days, we will convene a technical table in which all municipal services involved in the Festivals and the Federació de Fogueres will participate to review safety measures and protocols, especially in the Luceros area due to the increasing number of attendees at the mascletàs, but also any other issues that may arise and require the best solution."
