Alicante City Council Changes Spokesperson

The Parrot is once again spotted near Alicante, this time not far from the Alicante City Council, where there seems to be interesting movements. This is because internal chatter points to the municipal press room, where we might soon see significant changes.

Our dear Tourism Councillor, Ana Poquet, has proposed to the mayor, Luis Barcala, her replacement as the government team's spokesperson. A change induced by personal reasons, according to the rumors. It seems that Poquet will no longer attend the Local Government Board meeting held every Tuesday morning with Deputy Mayor Manuel Villar, and by next week, there will be a new municipal spokesperson.

When the duties of the position have prevented her from attending public appearances, it has been the Education Councillor, Mari Carmen de España, who has voiced municipal matters. Villar, the mayor's right-hand man, apparently will continue as the deputy spokesperson for the government team.

Poquet will continue as the Tourism Councillor. Our best wishes to the, until now, spokesperson of the municipal government team.

The Three Wise Men of Alicante also have a resume. It details their major management achievements and willingness towards the city, in addition to the recognitions that make Mayor Luis Barcala seek them out to propose their participation in the January 5th Parade.

This parrot, as you well know, is very festive and is interested in accompanying Their Majesties from the East on one of the floats, either on the camel or with its wings flapping to follow the royal procession. Therefore, it has managed to discover how the selection process is for the social and business representatives who will take on the roles of Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar.

The mayor revealed during a dinner with Alicante's hospitality entrepreneurs the meticulousness of the process. Barcala considers different proposals and analyzes each one's resume. Subsequently, once with the final list in hand, he calls the lucky individuals, also the royal wallets, to ensure that "no one is a republican."
