The circular economy. This is one of the main commitments of Alicante's business areas, which are calling for more public investment to launch joint projects that contribute to sustainability and development within these parks.
This is the main conclusion drawn from the 'Circular Economy in the Industrial Areas of the Province of Alicante' conference held at Blinker España's facilities and organized by the Business Union of the Province of Alicante (Uepal).
The meeting highlighted the industrial symbiosis initiatives being carried out in the province's industrial areas within a public-private collaboration framework with the Alicante Provincial Council. The event was inaugurated by Uepal Vice President Diego Menor, who described the circular economy as a "fundamental axis."
Menor emphasized that it "is a key driver for the future of our companies. It's not just about being more sustainable, but about generating economic and social value through innovative models," and stated that the association "wants to be a promoter of change by fostering projects."
Meanwhile, Juan Carlos del Río, manager of Atalayas Business City, detailed some of the most innovative projects being developed in his area. The manager highlighted the commitment of the industrial estate and assured their intention to "move towards a real circular economy, working alongside other business areas and companies to maximize the impact of our projects."
