Alicante Bonfire Festival Agenda for June 22: Flower Offering and Award Ceremony

Alicante will experience one of the most intense days of the Bonfire Festival 2025 this Saturday, June 22. From early morning until late at night, the city will be filled with gunpowder, flowers, music, and excitement. The award ceremony, the fifth mascletà of the contest, and the second day of the offering to the Virgin of Remedio will headline the day's festive agenda.

The day will start, as is tradition, with the wake-up calls by the bonfire makers at 8 am. While some will return directly from the racó, others will rise early to continue celebrating. At 11 am, the bonfire and barraca commissions will parade from the Town Hall square to the Rambla de Méndez Núñez to collect their banners.

In addition to the awards for the monuments —with special attention to the Special category—, prizes will be awarded for the artistic contest, llibret, band entry, and decorated streets, among others. Also, the special Todo Alicante award for the most Alicante-style barraca front will be presented.

From 1:00 pm, the Nanos i Gegants d'Alacant group will tour the city center accompanied by those who wish to join the popular parade. The route: Town Hall square, Altamira street, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, Alfonso el Sabio avenue, and arrival at Luceros square.

At 2:00 pm, the fifth official mascletà of the contest will thunder in Luceros square, following the traditional shout of the belleas del foc: "Senyor pirotècnic, pot començar la mascletà!"

This Saturday's display will be handled by Tpirotecnia Fuegos Artificiales del Mediterráneo (Vilamarxant, Valencia), known for their spectacular final earthquakes.

At 6:30 pm, the second day of the flower offering to the patroness of Alicante, the Virgin of Remedio, will begin. The festive commissions will depart from Luceros square towards the Town Hall, with a stop at the Co-Cathedral of San Nicolás, where they will deliver their floral bouquets.

The colors of the flowers, traditional skirts, and the sounds of the bands will fill the center of Alicante with emotion in this massive parade.

The bullfighting day will continue at 7:00 pm with a bullfight at the Bullring. This Saturday's lineup will feature Alejandro Talavante, Juan Ortega, Marco Pérez (debut in Spain as a matador), along with bulls from the Núñez del Cuvillo ranch.

After an intense day, the celebration will continue throughout the night in the racós and barracas scattered across the city. Music and a lively atmosphere will animate the night from June 22 to 23, heralding another great day of festivities.
