Alicante experiences one of the most anticipated days of the 2025 Bonfire Festival this Thursday, June 20: the 'Nit de la Plantà'. Although the monuments have already filled the streets since the beginning of the week, it is tonight when the festival officially kicks off with the festive atmosphere lighting up, the opening of racós with music, and a traditional dinner featuring 'coca amb tonyina' and figs.
Wake-up call, mascletà, and children's awards
Starting at 8:30 a.m., the jury will begin visiting the completed children's monuments by category. The 'belleas' will explain the significance of their bonfires to the jury members, culminating in their deliberation.
At 2:00 p.m., the Plaza de los Luceros will once again become the epicenter of gunpowder. The third display of the mascletà contest is by Ferrández pyrotechnics from Redován, a firm known for its experience and sound power that will leave no one indifferent.
