Alicante Bonfire Festival Agenda for June 19: Plantà and First Night of Racò Without Music

On Thursday, June 19, Alicante fully immerses itself in the atmosphere of the 2025 Bonfire Festival. Traditional songs like 'A la llum de les Fogueres' and 'La manta al coll i el cabasset' begin to echo throughout the city, as the streets fill with festive activity.

Throughout the day, artists finalize the details of the 91 children's bonfires that will be set up in every neighborhood. These works of art, filled with popular characters and fairy tale scenes, are carefully prepared to enchant the youngest. At night, children will help place the final ninots and decorations before the jury's visit the next day.

At 2 PM, the iconic Luceros Square will once again erupt with the second official mascletà competition display. This time, the Turis pyrotechnics from Valencia will be responsible for the show, promising to thrill locals and visitors alike with an explosion of gunpowder, rhythm, and excitement.

The night of June 19 will also mark the beginning of activity in the racòs and barracas, which will open their doors from 10 PM. Although it is not yet the official plantà, many will already take to the streets to dine outdoors with family and friends. However, on this first night, the festive venues will not feature music, as a gesture of respect towards those who must rise early the next day.

Friday, June 20, arrives filled with anticipation to start the 2025 Bonfire Festival. The racòs and barracas will be brimming with coca amb tonyina and figs during the traditional nit de la plantà. The festive spaces will officially open their doors, this time with music and dancing until the early hours.
