The province of Alicante bids farewell to the storm that marked the end of 2024. The new year began with cold and fog in various towns, while others, like the northern coast, experienced rainfall in recent hours.
This scenario is expected to change from this Thursday, according to the State Meteorological Agency, which has already lifted the yellow warning for rain and storms. However, umbrellas should not be stored away, as rain and showers will return in the coming days.
The Aemet provides a sense of relief for the celebration of the various Epiphany parades that will take place in the province of Alicante this Sunday, December 5th. Nevertheless, residents will keep an eye on the sky due to the rain forecasts for the 6th.
For now, the city of Alicante wakes up with the intention of reaching 19 degrees this Thursday, January 2nd, accompanied by the sun shining in every corner. The Aemet's forecast is 14 degrees in the morning, rising to 17.
These temperatures will persist throughout the rest of this first week of January, with mercury levels fluctuating between 18 and 20 degrees, and clouds announcing their return from this Friday. It will be on this day that the wind will also play a role, with gusts of up to 25 kilometres per hour.
According to Aemet, precipitation in the city of Alicante will arrive next Monday, January 6th, a holiday for the Epiphany. The probability of rain will remain at 50% compared to five percent on Sunday, the night of the parade.
The cathedral of the Magi, the city of Alcoi, wakes up shrouded in mist on this January 2nd, which will clear in the early hours to give way to a sun surrounded by clouds. The forecast temperatures for the day are 15 degrees for the highs and four for the lows.
This outlook will continue in the coming days, although attention will turn to January 5th, the day of the grand Epiphany parade in Alcoi. The probability is low, but the snow level is set, according to Aemet, at 1,300 metres.
The Marina Alta closes a new episode of rain for now. After a first day of the year marked by precipitation, the city of Dénia will keep the clouds with a maximum temperature of 17 degrees this Thursday. Showers will return to the capital of the red prawn next Monday.
Meanwhile, the Vega Baja will remain dry during this first week of January. Aemet leaves aside any type of precipitation in the coming days and forecasts a sunny outlook with highs of 17 degrees that will persist until Sunday.
