Rain continues to batter Valencia. The red alert for heavy rainfall has returned to the province's coast, with accumulations in 12 hours potentially exceeding 180 litres per square metre in the coming hours. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) activated this warning in the afternoon, focusing particularly on coastal areas where such large amounts of rain could fall in just four or five hours.
From 9 PM on Wednesday, the 13th, until 12 PM on Thursday, the 14th, Aemet will keep this alert active, once again warning some of the areas most affected by the devastating DANA of October 29.

The Climatology Laboratory of the University of Alicante has expressed concern on social media about forecasts indicating intense and stationary storms in the Valencia area. "There are scenarios pointing to the formation of very intense and static storms on the coastal-pre-coastal areas, which could affect some of the areas hardest hit by the floods."
On Wednesday, as the southern coast of Valencia experienced a day of rainfall, Emergency sent an ES-Alert system message announcing traffic restrictions for private vehicles in some municipalities affected by the floods. Authorities once again focused on the Poyo ravine, the Magro river, and some of the southern Valencia districts.

During the night and early morning, the rain will move from north to south and could be locally heavy and persistent, which is particularly concerning in areas where streets remain muddy from recent floods.
Aemet has posted on social media that very heavy rain is expected in a short time, warning of extreme danger. They recommend avoiding travel and warn that overflows and floods may occur in the province of Valencia's coastal areas.

The rainfall was concentrated particularly in municipalities bordering Alicante, where up to 92 litres per square metre were recorded in Barx or 85 in Gandía.
The Generalitat maintains Emergency situation 2 for floods throughout the province of Valencia and situation 1 in the Baix Maestrat region in Castellón.
