Huelva woke up this Friday under a red alert. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasted an accumulated precipitation of 140 liters per square meter in 12 hours for this province and estimated that the rains would continue with great intensity in this area during the following hours, although the warning was downgraded to orange.

In Huelva, Aemet recorded torrential rains in towns like Cartaya, with 117 liters per square meter in less than three hours, 70 of them in just one hour. The warning was active at least until 9:00 in the morning.

In total, seven provinces are today, All Saints' Day, under some type of alert, four of them on orange alert: for rain in Huelva and Tarragona and Mallorca and Menorca for rain and storms. Additionally, there will be yellow warnings for rain in Alicante and Valencia (Valencian Community). On the other hand, yellow warnings for rain and storms will be recorded in Ibiza and Formentera (Balearic Islands) and Badajoz (Extremadura).

The peninsula and the Balearic Islands will continue today under the influence of low pressures, with precipitation affecting the southwestern quadrant, the southwest of Castilla y León, Aragón, Catalonia, Levante, and the Balearic Islands. Specifically, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts locally strong and persistent showers and storms in the westernmost part of Andalusia, in the lower Ebro, and in the Balearic Islands, and they are not ruled out in the southern part of the western Central system.

The trend will continue tomorrow, a day for which Aemet forecasts locally strong or persistent showers and storms in the south of Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, and the coasts of Castellón and Valencia, although there could also be precipitation in their interiors.

For Sunday, the agency presents a scenario of greater stability, but precipitation will still be likely in Levante, in the middle and lower Ebro, and in the Catalan coasts, the Strait, and the Balearic Islands, with a possibility of locally strong and persistent showers and storms in the lower Ebro area.
