Atapaya, the association of workshops in the province of Alicante, integrated into Fempa, the Federation of metal entrepreneurs of Alicante, now has a president. His name is Alejandro Rico. On October 22, the association held its general assembly with an electoral character, where the new President representing the Alicante workshops was elected.

Alejandro Rico Tudela was elected, owner and manager of one of the oldest official Citroën workshops in Spain, founded by his father 55 years ago. Currently, after more than five decades of activity, it remains an official service and multi-brand workshop.

The new President of Atapaya thanked the trust placed in him after his appointment and urged all associated workshops to convey their needs, concerns, and proposals to the association and Fempa to work on solutions and achieve continuous improvement of the sector. Fighting against the underground economy and illegal and clandestine workshops, urgently improving the service provided by the ITV to citizens and workshops, and the relationship between workshops, insurers, and appraisers are some of the set goals.

Another proposal in this new stage is the creation of new working committees within the association, giving voice and prominence to the different sectors of vehicle repair: body shops, motorcycle workshops, etc., as well as cross-cutting issues affecting all workshops (ITV, insurers, environment...).

During the Assembly, the new Executive Committee of Atapaya was also appointed, with representatives from different areas of the province of Alicante and from different branches of activity and types of workshops.

The General Assembly gave special thanks to the outgoing president, Guillermo Moreno, for all his dedication and the enormous work done and achievements obtained in his long business career, as a representative of the workshops and metal entrepreneurs of Alicante in all forums and areas: provincial, regional, and even national, and especially as a prominent member of Cetraa, the Spanish Confederation of Workshops, being part of its Executive Committee and leading from Atapaya, the commission to fight against illegal workshops at the national level in Cetraa.
