Alcoi hosted the Sound Jordi festival this past Saturday, more than a decade after its first edition. About 3,500 people attended the event, according to the Alcoy council through a statement, in which they describe the public attendance as an "absolute success," hinting that the event will take place again next year.
Faixa, Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, Antònia Font, La Fúmiga, and DJ Trapella were the groups that performed at the venue set up for this purpose in the Cotes Baixes industrial area. One-third of the spectators came from outside the city, something that, according to the culture councilor Elisa Guillem, "has positively impacted the city's economy." In this regard, the councilor highlights that hotel occupancy rates were at "maximum and good figures were also observed in bars and restaurants."
Regarding the free bus service that was launched to return from the concerts, "it operated normally and was used by hundreds of people." Also, regarding the event's security, they highlight from the council "that there were no significant incidents."
Another positive point mentioned by Guillem is how quickly the venue returned to normal after the concerts since by Monday the area had already been cleaned.
