Carlos Alcaraz has already left behind the holiday he spent earlier this week in Ibiza. Before starting to play at Queen's, where he will debut on Tuesday against Alejandro Davidovich, the Spanish tennis player shared some details about his days on the island. "They were fun," he assured this Sunday at the Queen's Club, where both he and Jack Draper spoke to the media.

"This year was calmer than the last. The previous one was more hectic. I only went out the first day, and the other two nights I stayed in. In bed by midnight on Tuesday and Wednesday, although I did go out in the afternoon. I'm getting older, and my body can't handle it," the Murcian commented, half-jokingly, half-seriously.

That it had been a more relaxed holiday could already be foreseen by the photographs published by some of his companions in Ibiza. Alcaraz, besides having time to go out and unwind, didn't want to lose the rhythm and form that had earned him spectacular months on the clay court tour, where he won in Monte Carlo, Rome, and Roland Garros and reached the final in Barcelona.

"This year has been calmer, it was fun, but honestly, I rested a lot, both physically and mentally. Three nights and three days were more than enough. It probably is (a tradition). It's the best time after Roland Garros for such a holiday because it's mid-season. Having that free time is great, and now I can return with more energy," the Murcian acknowledged.

When asked if his team tried to prevent him from going to Ibiza, Alcaraz was very clear and denied it. "They didn't because they knew I would be at 100%," he replied. "There are situations where many people may not agree, where even you think yes, but they don't agree, but in life, I want to make my own mistakes. I'm glad that this year people tell me to go wherever I want, to disconnect, because that support is good for me in certain situations. We learn every year, and maybe in a few years, I won't be able to go, but now are moments of disconnection that are beneficial," he insisted.

With the holidays over, Alcaraz is already thinking about the next challenge, Wimbledon, for which the first stop is Queen's. The player from El Palmar completed his second training session in the English capital on Saturday and will continue to fine-tune his form this Monday before his debut against Davidovich.
