Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada is experiencing one of her most hectic professional periods. With 74 fashion shows a year, her collaboration on TardeAR, and the launch of her book, "Todo por un plan," as she approaches her 65th birthday on July 22, she admits her schedule is so packed that she barely has time for anything else. She has even confessed in an interview with ¡Hola! magazine that she is not eager to fall in love: "Not yet. I would love to, but I just don't feel it." In this new phase of singlehood following her controversial breakup with lawyer José Manuel Díaz-Patón, she is clear that she prefers to move towards "something more intellectual." "Falling in love is a magical thing. But he must have culture and intelligence," she emphasizes.

The designer and the lawyer parted ways due to Patón's behaviour towards the media when Ágatha's comments about living "like gypsies" sparked an unstoppable controversy. Even Lolita criticized the renowned designer for her words. Ágatha publicly apologized and also spoke privately with the singer. Things were settled between them; however, the lawyer continued to fuel the issue with his public statements, which ultimately ended their three-year relationship.

"I don't know what happened with Patón and I never will," she declares, still bewildered by the episode. "I was terribly upset," she acknowledges, explaining that "it was an unexpected and very strange breakup." "I can't wait to get over it," she adds. However, we won't see her with him again as has happened with Luismi, with whom, despite being an ex-partner, she maintains an excellent relationship, as she even rules out the possibility of friendship: "For now, it's unimaginable that we could be friends."

She hasn't reunited with Luismi either, whom she "adores." "Knowing how he is and that he won't change, it's impossible for us to get back together," she reflects. She dines with him, enjoys his company, but a relationship is not in her plans, nor does she think it is in his. "He knows he will face temptation and won't be able to resist," she states. However, she found great support in him during her separation from Díaz-Patón.

Having become a grandmother after the birth of her first granddaughter in April 2024, daughter of her son Tristán and his partner, she is delighted to embrace her role as a grandmother and is eager for her granddaughter to grow up so she can make plans with her.

Happy with this stage of her life, she feels great, especially considering she hasn't taken much care of herself. The years have given her perspective on what she seeks in a man to stay by her side: "For me, it's very important that your partner shares some interests: travelling, reading, culture... It's fundamental. I've never cared much about the sexual aspect, as I've had plenty of that." "I mean, I don't need more. I'd rather travel and have a good time," she clarifies, although she understands that having a good relationship "is very difficult."

Meanwhile, she goes out with friends who "take her out," as she prefers dining with male friends rather than female ones: "You know, dining with ladies... They barely eat and don't want to have a drink because they might gain weight..." she jokes.

Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada approaches her 65th birthday full of vitality and professional challenges. As for love, only time will tell.
