Aemet Warns of Another Storm in Alicante After Herminia: "Uncertainty Remains About Its Position"

La borrasca Herminia crosses from west to east across Alicante province. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow alert throughout the territory due to the phenomena brought by the explosive cyclogenesis storm.

Although the "deep" storm is centred over the British Isles, its effects extend across the peninsula and Alicante province. Wind gusts of up to 80 kilometres per hour prevail in the inland regions, while waves batter the coast.

Aemet warns of waves that could reach up to four metres in height. This Monday marks the "most adverse" episode of storm Herminia, which will bring some precipitation, although with less probability, in the Mediterranean.

Furthermore, the latest report from the state agency highlights that in the coming hours, the entry of a polar maritime air mass is expected, which will shift the wind towards the west. However, a new storm will not leave Alicante indifferent.

Regarding this other phenomenon, Aemet highlights that "uncertainty remains about the position". This new storm will enter the peninsula and Alicante province from this Wednesday, bringing more stormy weather to the Mediterranean side.

It will be on Thursday when the wind phenomena will be well present on the Alicante coast due, also, to the crossing of the Ciezo and Tramontana. The yellow alert in the province will remain until that day, awaiting a new update from Aemet.

Meanwhile, Monday is expected with highs of 23 degrees in the city of Alicante. Winds crossing the land of Postiguet will reach up to 30 kilometres per hour, while the waves collide with the shores of Alicante beaches.

The yellow alert for the storm will remain until this Wednesday, when the precipitations reach the city of Alicante, according to Aemet's forecast. These will persist until the weekend begins, when normality returns to the provincial capital.
