Adriana Ugarte has been announced as the recipient of the 'City of Alicante' award at the 22nd edition of the Alicante Film Festival. The festival will pay tribute to the actress, who will visit the Teatro Principal on May 17 to receive this honour.
"It is a privilege to receive this award," Adriana Ugarte acknowledged upon learning of this recognition. "I am thrilled and deeply honoured." The festival organisers also highlighted her remarkable career in film and television, noting her versatility and talent.
Adriana Ugarte will make time in her schedule—currently busy filming the movie 'Tal vez', the debut of Arima León—to attend the opening gala of the Alicante Film Festival and receive this tribute, which acknowledges the careers of young actors and actresses in the country.
Regarding her upcoming visit, she confessed, "Alicante is a magnificent place, and I am truly grateful that they thought of me for this award." Adriana Ugarte follows in the footsteps of Javier Pereira in receiving this accolade.
Other recipients of the 'City of Alicante' award include Dani Rovira, Inma Cuesta, Juana Acosta, Verónica Echegui, Irene Escolar, Mario Casas, Ernesto Alterio, Fernando Tejero, Raúl Arévalo, Marta Etura, and Hugo Silva, among others.
"Such things fill me with energy to continue dedicating myself and striving in my profession with the passion I feel," concluded Ugarte, who is one of the most prominent actresses in the Spanish scene, boasting over two decades of success and versatility on both the big and small screens.
The actress has been nominated for a Goya Award for Best New Actress for 'Cabeza de perro', and her filmography includes successes such as 'Palmeras en la nieve', Pedro Almodóvar's 'Julieta', 'Durante la tormenta', and 'Lobo Feroz'; as well as series like 'La señora', 'El tiempo entre costuras', 'Parot', and 'Madre'.
Adriana Ugarte is currently filming 'Tal Vez', where she plays the renowned trapeze artist Pinito del Oro, a role that promises to further solidify her versatility as an actress and her presence in Spanish cinema.
