Adacea, the Association for Acquired Brain Injury of the Province of Alicante, held its traditional charity bazaar this Sunday. The event aims to raise funds to support rehabilitation, social inclusion, and assistance programmes for individuals with acquired brain injuries and their families.
This association runs programmes in Alicante focused on providing information, raising awareness, and supporting people with acquired brain injuries and their families. This year, it has once again received a grant of 8,870 euros from the Social Welfare subsidies for entities.
The event took place at the Explanada del Puerto de Alicante this Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It featured stalls offering products made in the association's workshops, as well as second-hand or donated items such as clothing, crafts, decorative objects, accessories, books, jewellery, toys, and Adacea's charity lottery.
All proceeds will be entirely allocated to fund the various programmes run by Adacea in Alicante, aiming to improve the quality of life for individuals with acquired brain injuries and their families.
The Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, visited the bazaar to show his support and that of the Alicante City Council for this group. "Adacea's charity bazaar is an event that, once again, and especially in these times when solidarity is at the forefront, calls on us to be aware and contribute to a good cause," Barcala stated. He emphasised that "Alicante is a naturally charitable city" and that with initiatives like this, "we can make a small gesture to help associations like Adacea carry out invaluable work for those who suffer from brain injuries for any reason."
Barcala toured the bazaar alongside the Councillors for Health, Cristina Cutanda; Social Welfare, Begoña León; Tourism, Ana Poquet; and Commerce, Lidia López, accompanied by representatives from Adacea.
