Measures announced by Pedro Sánchez to prevent corruption within the PSOE, as well as his fight against machismo, which he defended this Saturday during his federal committee, are mere 'posturing'.

This was stated by the Popular Party during their congress, where they emphasized that the Prime Minister 'has no word' nor 'credibility'.

'His supposed fight against corruption and machismo is mere posturing while he remains in office as the main person responsible for what happened', they denounced after Sánchez confirmed he would remain at the helm of the party despite admitting he trusted Santos Cerdán and Ábalos.

The PP pointed out that Sánchez's response to 'the corruption and machismo of the PSOE was to choose a person who awarded contracts to companies involved in the scheme', referring to the new Secretary of Organization, Rebeca Torró.

Furthermore, the Popular Party criticized that Sánchez did not mention his former minister José Luis Ábalos nor his former Secretary of Organization Santos Cerdán, and spent more time talking about former President José María Aznar than about the socialist Francisco Salazar, who resigned from the PSOE Executive and his position in Moncloa after being accused of harassing women.

'It is an insult to intelligence that he does not even mention the members of his corrupt clan, whom he recently promoted as Deputy Secretary of Organization of the PSOE.'

"As good a president as a talent scout"

The PP also referred to accusations by several women against the socialist Francisco Salazar for his 'inappropriate behavior', which ultimately led to his resignation from the PSOE Executive and his position in Moncloa.

'For Sánchez, it was acceptable to replace one sexist with another, and it was his party that rejected the appointment. Someone who was a 'completely honest colleague' a minute ago is now a sexist who cannot lead Ferraz', they stated.

The PP has stated that 'Sánchez is as good a president as he is a talent scout'. 'Either there are few exemplary people in his party, or he is not good at choosing suitable profiles for Spanish politics', they stated, adding that in 'Ferraz, no one can vouch for anyone because the PSOE is a real fire'.
