Donald Trump and against the European Union. Without surprises regarding the political discourse he has maintained recently, the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, accused the 'bureaucrats' of Brussels on Thursday of 'facilitating (Vladimir) Putin's aggression' against Ukraine, while also criticising the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, for 'paying' for the bombs Russia launches by importing 'twice as much gas as before the war'.
This was expressed by the leader of the far-right party during his speech at the 'Conservative Party Action Conference' (CPAC), the summit of conservatives in the United States, held in Washington, where he warned that the 'bureaucrats' of Brussels who 'cling to their seats' intend to lead society towards a 'total war'.
'The same ones who gave Russia the possibility to invade Ukraine, the same ones who facilitated (Russian President Vladimir) Putin's aggression, condemning us to energy dependence,' Abascal declared, then criticising Sánchez for his upcoming visit to Kiev (Ukraine) on the third anniversary of the conflict's start.
'Now, the president of my country, Pedro Sánchez, travels to Kiev, Ukraine, but he will not tell the Ukrainians that the bombs Russia launches are paid for by him. Yes, they are paid for by Sánchez, who buys twice as much gas from Russia as before the war, and with that money given by European conservatives and socialists, they have also financed Putin's war,' he stated, according to Europa Press.
In his view, Europe needs to defend itself from the plans 'of those who bring terror' to the streets. 'It must defend itself from those oligarchies or those oligarchs disguised as philanthropists,' he said, naming the US financial magnate of Hungarian origin, George Soros.
During his speech, Abascal harshly attacked immigration, which, in his opinion, brings 'Islamist terrorism' to Europe. 'A mix of misunderstood pacifism, selfishness, suicide, and submission, Europeans have seen how the oligarchs have left Europe defenseless, its streets unsafe, its borders crumbled, and its resources insufficient,' he claimed.
He warned that in Europe 'freedom is being persecuted' and they intend that 'all those truths cannot be denounced'. 'The European oligarchies are destroying everything that once made Europe great, and for that, they intend to eliminate our freedom, which is the backbone of our shared civilization,' he added.
Having said this, he reproached 'politicians with names and surnames' for imposing on Europe 'the real burdens' on its economy, which, he continued, are not the tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump, 'which hopefully will not come,' he wished. In his view, the real tariffs on Europeans, according to Abascal, are 'the green pact, abusive taxes, and the 'woke' regulation.'
Following this, the leader of Vox made a final plea to 'reconquer' economic freedom, for industry, agriculture, and energy, and also for borders, identity, democracy, and the sovereignty of nations. 'The era of darkness is coming to an end,' he concluded.
