Since the inception of the A390, Alpine's engineering goals have been clear: to offer the A390, a five-seater sport fastback, with the agility and driving pleasure of the A110. It embodies all of Alpine's dynamic DNA, delivering top-level performance akin to the brand's models, while also providing the space of a five-seater.
For the final tests before the A390's commercial launch, the dynamic performance of Alpine's sport fastback is being tested at the advanced Ladoux technology centre in Auvergne. Its 4,100 m wet track is ideal for pushing the A390 to its limits with its two specific Michelin tyre options, 20 and 21 inches.
A perfect testing ground for the technologies equipping the A390 and influencing its dynamic behaviour: its three electric motors enabling Alpine Active Torque Vectoring and its five driving modes, including the new Track Mode, which adjusts the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) configuration. The teams thus validate the mapping of these different technological blocks.
The A390 is equipped with specific tyres developed with Michelin, identifiable by their A39 marking: 20-inch Pilot Sport EV and 21-inch Pilot Sport 4S.
The Alpine Drive Sound system is also part of these tests in Ladoux to accompany the driver in their journey, whether in daily driving or more sporty conditions. Like the A290, Alpine has created two specific sounds for its new model. The sportier sound is inspired by the A110's tone, but without attempting to replicate the sound of a combustion engine. The second sound, more suited for daily use, has fewer low frequencies. Both can be adjusted to two intensity levels and can even be turned off completely.
