On Sunday, the President of the Alicante Provincial Council, Toni Pérez, attended the Gala Parade of the Moors and Christians Festival in Benissa, a celebration declared of Provincial Tourist Interest, which this year marks its fiftieth anniversary.

Pérez, accompanied by the town's mayor and provincial deputy, Arturo Poquet, highlighted the institution's commitment to this festival "which is an essential part of the cultural identity and traditions of our land and is also an important tourist attraction and a driver of economic development and social cohesion for the municipality."

To commemorate this anniversary, the Gala Parade has changed its route this year, moving to l'Avinguda País Valencià, a wider and more accessible avenue that has allowed the numerous attendees to fully enjoy this spectacular and colourful event.
