42-Year Prison Sentence Sought for Couple Accused of Abusing Daughters and Recording in Gran Canaria

The Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Las Palmas has requested a total of 42 years in prison for a couple allegedly involved in the continuous abuse of two minors—a daughter born in 2014 and another girl who is the woman's daughter—and recording it on video in Gran Canaria.

In its statement, the Public Prosecutor's Office has charged both the man and the woman with continuous sexual abuse of a minor with carnal access; and of using a minor to produce child pornography.

In this regard, the Second Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will hold the trial this Thursday, June 12, to assess these alleged acts.

According to the provisional conclusions, the Prosecutor's Office explains that the man abused the two girls at their home on the island from October 2019 until early June 2022, with the woman's involvement in the acts.

Furthermore, the accused created digital image and video files recording such sexual acts of the aforementioned minors to store them, while up to 200 files of this type were found, including both their daughters and other similar documents featuring unidentified minors.

Finally, due to these alleged acts, the man has been in custody since June 2022 and the woman since January 2023.
