The Mayor of Elda, Rubén Alfaro, visited the San Crispín municipal pools on Tuesday, which will open their doors this Wednesday, 18th June, for the summer season. The Elda mayor was accompanied by the director of Emudesa, Javier Rivera, and the Sports Councillor, Enrique Quílez.

Rubén Alfaro explained that "this year, the gardens, showers, and filtration system have been improved to ensure the highest water quality. We are eager to surpass last year's figures, when nearly 30,000 people enjoyed the activities offered."

The Mayor of Elda highlighted that "thanks to the initiatives undertaken by the local government and direct management through Emudesa, we have enhanced the quality of service and public attention, which has led to a 75% increase in users since 2019."

"For almost three months," continued the Elda mayor, "in these facilities, besides free swimming, other activities such as intensive swimming courses for all ages at affordable prices will be organised. It will also be one of the venues for the Municipal Summer School."

Rubén Alfaro recalled that "these pools celebrate their 40th anniversary this year, having been inaugurated in July 1985. I believe it is a facility used only in the summer, but it attracts thousands of Elda residents. I want to thank all the Emudesa staff, as well as the security personnel, such as the Local Police, Civil Protection, and Red Cross, for ensuring everything runs smoothly and public services maintain quality."

Javier Rivera, on his part, detailed that "the opening hours will be from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday to Sunday, allowing Elda residents and those from other nearby towns to beat the heat and enjoy this public service."

The director of Emudesa also highlighted that "26 people are involved in providing this service, including lifeguards, instructors, access control, maintenance staff, and administrative personnel, ensuring the space functions well and is in good condition for public use and enjoyment."
