Study plans for each degree, last year's cut-off scores, the services offered by the university, and the career prospects of the degrees were the most frequently asked and answered questions this Friday at the information point set up at the University of Alicante (UA) for the 21st edition of the Conferences on degree studies and their career prospects.

In total, more than 4,000 young people from 150 schools participated in this event; the majority, 90%, were first and second-year high school students; the rest were parents, university students, teachers, and educational advisors.

Although most of them came from schools in the province of Alicante, young people from Albacete, Valencia, Murcia, Ciudad Real, Burgos, Gijón, Zaragoza, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria also visited the San Vicent del Raspeig campus. Young people like Sergio, María, and Judit, who must choose their academic path this year.

"I would like to study Multimedia Engineering," said Judit, who was convinced by the career prospects presented during the informative talk. "I think these conferences are great because they help you decide," said Sergio, who is leaning towards engineering; while María explained that after this day, she clearly understood the differences between Technical Architecture and Architecture studies, "now I have to think about which one to choose," she noted.

The students had the opportunity to learn firsthand not only about the content of their future degrees but also about the details of their career prospects and the wide range of services offered by the UA. They did so by attending the 45 lectures delivered by 150 speakers, including academic leaders of the degrees, final-year students or recent graduates, and professionals in the field.

The event was organized by the Secretariat for University Access and Orientation of the Vice-Rectorate for Student Employment, and its celebration would not have been possible without the work of the 55 UA students who collaborated in its development.
