The 2025 San Pedro Cup Final to be Held at Rico Pérez

The Hércules football club announced on Tuesday that the 77th edition of the San Pedro Cup, Spain's longest-running amateur football tournament and a historical landmark in Alicante's sports scene, will hold its final at the José Rico Pérez stadium. "As part of the club's commitment to the development of football in all its forms, and in line with the values that have defined us since 1922, Hércules reaffirms its strong support for amateur football, the local sports community, and all initiatives that promote participation, talent, passion, and social roots," stated the club.

The presentation gala and the tournament group draw will also take place at the José Rico Pérez stadium this week.

According to Hércules, the club will be directly involved through three actions:

• Registration of a representative Hércules CF team in the tournament, strengthening ties with grassroots sports and reaffirming the commitment to the growth of football in all its categories.

• Provision of the José Rico Pérez stadium to host the Grand Final of the championship, offering the finalists a top-level venue, worthy of the prestige and tradition of this competition.

• Institutional and operational support during the development of the San Pedro Cup, contributing to its organization, projection, and consolidation as one of the most prominent sporting events on the local calendar.

"With this collaboration, Hércules de Alicante CF aims to highlight the efforts of the clubs, associations, and players who make this emblematic competition possible year after year," concluded the Hércules statement.

Meanwhile, the first team of Hércules will begin preparations on Wednesday for the last match of the season against Atlético Sanluqueño, which will take place at Rico Pérez this Saturday at 19:00. Rubén Torrecilla's team has nothing at stake as they have already secured their place in the league, while their opponent will try to avoid relegation in the final match. This game will mark the farewell of several Hércules players and possibly the coach, despite having another season left on his contract.
