BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé: Enhanced Performance and Technology

BMW has launched the second generation of the 2 Series Gran Coupé, an elegant model that has improved in driving dynamics and digitalisation. For instance, compared to its predecessor, its length has increased by 20 millimetres to 4,546 millimetres, while the wheelbase measures 2,670 millimetres. The vehicle's width is 1,800 millimetres and the height has increased by 25 millimetres to 1,445 millimetres. It features four doors and five seats.

The vehicle's distinctive front section, with a flat appearance inclined towards the road, the BMW radiator grille with innovative vertical and diagonal slat structure (horizontal in M235 xDrive), new LED headlights with vertical elements and slightly arrow-shaped daytime running lights and indicators, are striking. Also notable is the powerfully modelled rear apron with hidden exhaust pipes, featuring four visible outlets behind the rear bumper.

The new BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé is instantly recognisable as the top model of the series due to its M radiator grille with horizontal slats, M exterior mirror caps in black, and four exhaust outlets. An exclusive M technical package is available as an optional equipment for the top model, featuring specific dampers, rigidity measures, lightweight construction, M compound brake system, and 19-inch M forged light alloy wheels. All other model variants are optionally available with the M Sport package. The M Sport Pro package is also offered for the first time.

The design of the cockpit has also been reinterpreted with the BMW Curved Display and a new gear selector in the centre console. A fully digital display system consists of an instrument cluster with a 10.25-inch information display and a 10.7-inch main display. The consequent digitalisation reduces the number of buttons and controls. A youthful and fresh style with high-quality finishes and trims. A new standard sports steering wheel, M leather steering wheel with shift paddles, and steering wheel heating are available as options.

Its sports seats and M sports seat with integrated headrests, available as an option, are also noteworthy. Also available: seat heating (standard equipment), electric adjustment, lumbar support, and massage function for the sports seats.

It will be launched with four propulsion variants: a new four-cylinder petrol engine with 300 hp in the BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé, the top of the range. Advanced four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with 170 hp in the new BMW 220 Gran Coupé, 163 hp in the new BMW 220d Gran Coupé, and 150 hp in the new BMW 218d Gran Coupé. BMW 220 Gran Coupé and BMW 220d Gran Coupé with 48-volt mild hybrid technology.
