The baby who was hospitalized after drowning in the bathtub at his home in Monda has died this Saturday, according to sources close to the case confirmed to SUR. The child, just 13 months old, was admitted on Thursday afternoon to the Maternal and Child Hospital of Málaga in a very critical condition, and despite the doctors' efforts, they could not save his life.

The incident occurred late in the morning on June 12, as reported by this medium. The Civil Guard has launched an investigation to clarify what happened, although it all points to an accident when the mother was bathing the child at their home in Monda. The woman, upon realizing that the child was not responding, rushed him to the local health center, located a short distance from their home.

Medical staff found the baby in critical condition, with cyanotic skin and no heartbeat, and did everything possible to try to revive him, tirelessly performing maneuvers that lasted about 40 minutes. In coordination with the Local Police of Monda, the 061 emergency service was activated, which mobilized a helicopter for his evacuation to the Maternal Hospital of Málaga.

Doctors did everything in their power to try to save him, but his prognosis was too severe. After two days in the hospital, according to hospital sources, the baby has died.

It should be noted that this is the second case ending in tragedy due to the drowning of a minor in Málaga in just a few days. On June 2, a 12-year-old boy lost his life in a private pool in Mijas.

It happened around 8:30 p.m., in the mining urbanization of El Coto. According to this newspaper, the minor had gone to spend the afternoon at a friend's house. For reasons still under investigation, the teenager was found floating in the pool.

Apparently, he was rescued by the family themselves, who immediately alerted the emergency services. Local Police, Civil Guard, and 061 emergency services arrived at the scene and tried to revive the minor for more than 40 minutes.

All their efforts were in vain, and his death was confirmed. Immediately, the judicial commission was activated for the removal of the body. The Civil Guard also took charge of the case.
