The sustainable mobility continues its course in Elche with the incorporation of six new buses completely electric to the municipality's urban bus fleet starting in October. "In the future, they will be digitized always thinking about comfort, mobility, and making Elche a much more accessible city from the perspective of public service and transportation," says the town's mayor, Pablo Ruz.

The new vehicles represent an investment of 3,755,380 euros, subsidized by the European Next Generation funds with 1.2 million euros, approximately 30 percent. The buses are equipped with reverse sensors, tire pressure monitoring, cybersecurity protection, speed assistants, braking systems, fatigue detectors, emergency stop signals, and even a breathalyzer with start-up lock.

Avanza Elche's operations manager, Ángel Luis Andreu, highlighted that "with the incorporation of these six new vehicles we achieve that 70 percent of the fleet is hybrid or fully electric." The manager added that this measure "contributes to the reduction of emissions of up to 80 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year."

The mayor has visited the bus production plant of Solaris company in Poznan, Poland, along with the Mobility Councilor Claudio Guilabert and Avanza Elche's operations manager to see the facilities of the company that has manufactured the six new fully electric vehicles that will be added to Elche's urban bus fleet in a few days.
